Composed in 2003, commissioned by the Dutch FPK. Originally scored for recorder quartet. In 2004 arranged for sax quartet. Versions for trombone quartet , guitar-, cello- and viola quartet, flute orchestra, reed quintet (Calefax) and a combination of violin, viola, cello, Bb clarinet and trombone. ( Crash Ensemble )

The work was inspired by the post 9 -11 trauma and the role of religion in the history of mankind: Is Jesus really coming? Isn’t it about time? The composition is based on sound bytes from the streets of New York:  an angry street evangelist on Times Square and a small Salvation Army choir. The groove is based on looped baby talk from 2 Dutch girls: 18 months old Welmoed 

and 2 year old Amber.
